Zicatela is an excellent place for surfing because it has big waves that can get to 6 meters. Zicatela is an indigenous name that means site of large spines.
Zicatela has a very good environment that´s why here are done a lot of events (when there is not a pandemic).
WHAT TO DO IN ZICATELA?
As I mentioned if you know how to surf you could go surfing, or take classes to surf, or swim if you are good doing it.
In Zicatela there are events sometimes and thats another thing you could do. Also the town has colorful restaurants and a hippy environment.
Zicatela has a soft gray sand, you can stay there and see the sunrise or the sunset with the surfers in the waves, and also you could go to eat traditional food in some restaurant.
RESTAURANTS
There are a lot of restaurants near to the beach, the beach is very long so you are not going to have problem in finding a place to eat.
XCAANDA RESTAURANT AND BAR: If you are trying to find a cheap or medium price restaurant that is nice and with good food this could be an option, this restaurant is located almost in the beach, it has a view to the beach and is cheap, you can go here to eat mexican or international food.
Café Ole: This cafe is famous in Zicatela and is very close to the beach, here you can have a breakfast or sea food it has vegan options. Medium prices.
Piyoli: Is a restaurant of healthy food, it is close to Punta Zicatela and has a lot of vegan options the prices go from 75 to 170 mexican pesos.
HOTELS
Rockaway: This hotel is one block away from the beach it has prices of 1,300 to 1,400 mexican pesos per night approximately, it has pool, free parking, free breakfast, wifi and other services.
Bungalows Zicatela: This hotel has a view to the beach, is very close and offers pool, free breakfast, diving, wifi and family activities. In the rooms they have tv, minibar and refrigerator. If you are coming with your pet this could be your option.
