The “Mondays on the Hill” are the main attraction of the Guelaguetza, these are celebrated the 2 mondays after the 16th of July.

WHAT IS THE ORIGIN OF “MONDAYS ON THE HILL”?

These celebrations are relationed with the festivity of the party of the Carmen Alto(this is why they have the same origin as the Guelaguetza), the temple of the Virgin of Carmen Alto was built near the hill of the Fortín, this is the reason why they are celebrated in this place.
