THE BEACHES OF OAXACA, EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

Oaxaca has a big coast, that extends in the Pacific Ocean, is a natural , cultural and gastronomic paradise.

The coast is a region that involves different things not only beaches, but I am going to talk about the beaches that are the principal tourist attraction of this region,

This region covers 11,605 km² and the most populated city is Puerto Escondido.

THE MOST FAMOUS BEACHES

THE MOST ECONOMIC

In Oaxaca you can find beaches with a very little amount of tourists and with good prices, here I present you 2. In Puerto Escondido there are hotels and restaurants of high prices.

Carrizalillo Beach: This beach is in Puerto Escondido, it has turquoise waters and some economic restaurants, hotels and hostels, in this beach you can buy an eco-tour to see dolphins.

Principal beach of Puerto Escondido: This is the biggest beach of Puerto Escondido, you can find a lot of restaurants in the shore and hotels very close. This beach is very famous nationally.

MEDIUM AND HIGH PRICES

The Huatulco Bays: Huatulco has more elevated prices, and the Tangolunda bay is the most expensive one because there are located the biggest resorts like Barceló and Dreams.

Is more complicated to find cheap hotels in Huatulco but there are some.

NATURE UNCOVERED

Oaxaca is one of the most biodiverse states of México, the coast of Oaxaca has a lot of species of birds, reptiles and fish, there are 3 places that stand out for the services that they offer.

Huatulco National Park: Huatulco has been a very touristic place, but it still has a lot of natural attractives, one of those is the Huatulco National Park that was declared national park on July 24 of 1998.

In the park you can do different activities like boat rides, interpretative hiking, snorkel and diving.

From October to April you can see the humpback wale migration in this national park, from September to March migratory birds and from June to November the presence of Marine turtles on the beach.

Chacahua Lagoons: It was declared national park the July 9 of 1937, in this bays and lagoons inhabit 3 species of sea turtles: Lut, Hawksbill and Golfina, this 3 species lay their eggs in the beaches of San Juan and the Chacahua Bay. In the Chacahua bay also inhabits the aetobatus laticeps a species of ray.

In the lagoons there are activities that you can do like go on a boat ride to see birds and other wildlife species.

Ventanilla: This place is incredible were in a boat ride you can see a lot of bird species, turtles and crocodiles.

THE SURF BEACH IN OAXACA

Zicatela is the beach in Oaxaca to go surfing, there are big waves, and surf championships are performed here, if you don´t know to surf but you would like to see surfers this is your beach. In Zicatela there are restaurants, and especially a very good nocturnal environment.
